Terri Harper vs Caroline Dubois: Date, Fight Preview & How to Watch
Doncaster’s Terri Harper will square off against dangerous young gun Caroline Dubois for the WBC and WBO Lightweight world titles in a potentially bad-tempered clash on Sunday, April 5.
Tensions have threatened to boil over several times in the build-up. Dubois has made several attempts to belittle Harper’s accomplishments in the sport during interviews – in response, Harper shoved Dubois during their most recent pre-fight confrontation.
Broadcasted live on Sky Sports, this could be one of the best fights of the year – not only is there plenty of needle, both boxers are phenomenally talented fighters. Expect sparks to fly in this one – but who will emerge victorious?
| Fights | Wins (KOs) | Losses (KOs) | Draws/NCs | |
| Terri Harper | 20 | 16 (6) | 2 (2) | 2 |
| Caroline Dubois | 12 | 12 (5) | 0 | 1 |
Terri Harper vs Caroline Dubois Fight Preview
We will do our very best to hide our biases in this preview. We’re huge fans of Terri Harper here at Essential Boxing – as such, we’ll keep this one as impersonal as we can.
Sadly, we cannot escape the feeling that this is a bad stylistic matchup for Harper. She has struggled with heavy-hitting pressure fighters in the past – most notably Sandy Ryan and Alicia Baumgardner, both of whom finished her off within the distance.
Harper has a tendency to panic when caught with a big punch. However, she was caught with several powerful blows against Rhiannon Dixon and was able to absorb them – indicating that she may have overcome this mental deficiency.
Dubois, however, is relentless. The younger sister of Daniel Dubois, she isn’t quite as bullishly aggressive as her Heavyweight brother, but still packs a phenomenal punch – she hits a lot harder than her KO record would suggest.
Harper probably has the edge in terms of technical ability. A wonderfully graceful fighter when in full flow, she will need to keep Dubois at range to be consistently successful – she’ll also need to make sure she can tie her opponent up if she gets too close.
Furthemore, Harper will need to get Dubois’ respect early on. If ‘Sweet Caroline’ feels like she can walk through her punches with little resistance, this will be a very, very long night for the 29-year-old.

Ellie Scotney will be part of the chief support bout against Mayelli Flores in a fight for the unified Super-Bantamweight world titles. One of the best-kept secrets in British boxing, Scotney has been on an absolute tear since 2023.
Her opponent, Mayelli Flores Rosquero, comes in at just 4ft 11. A classy fighter, one would assume that Scotney should be able to dictate the action – so long as Rosquero doesn’t get on the inside too often.
Elsewhere, former Katie Taylor conqueror Chantelle Cameron will square off against Michaela Kotaskova for the WBO Super-Welterweight world title, while Irma Garcia and Emma Dolan will square off for the IBF Super-Flyweight belt.
