Dereck Chisora vs Otto Wallin – preview, how to watch and ring walk time

In the penultimate bout of his storied professional career, fan favourite Dereck Chisora will take on Otto Wallin in a ten round heavyweight clash. Taking place on February 8, it promises to be another scintillating night of boxing with plenty of great fights all over the card.

Chisora showed in his last bout that he still has plenty left in the tank, when he defeated Joe Joyce by unanimous decision. He pitched his tactics to perfection, regularly drawing Joyce in and catching him with solid counter punches. Late on in the bout, he even managed to drop the iron-chinned Olympian.

It was an excellent, almost Benjamin Button-esque performance from Del Boy. The calibre of his display certainly makes him the favourite on Saturday – but his opponent is no slouch.

Wallin’s last high profile bout saw him retire on his stool after five rounds of punishment from Anthony Joshua – but he has been in action since then. His last fight, which took place back in July, saw him stop giant journeyman Onoriode Ehwarieme in just four rounds.

Many will expect Chisora to walk through the Swedish southpaw, but this may not be the case. Wallin’s height and reach make him an awkward foe to attack – furthermore, he thrives against slow, plodding fighters who are shorter than him.

Chisora fits perfectly into this category – but he can negate all of Wallin’s advantages if he can find a way around his long, active guard. He will need to find a way to consistently bulldoze his way inside, rather than allowing Wallin to keep him at mid-to-long range.

Who is on the undercard?

Zach Parker vs Willy Hutchinson was initially the plum bout of the undercard – however, Hutchinson has recently pulled out of the contest with an injured shoulder. It remains to be seen if Parker’s team can find a replacement opponent at such short notice.

Elsewhere, Stoke native Nathan Heaney will be looking to pick up the pieces after a TKO loss against Brad Pauls – he takes on Frenchman Sofiane Khati in a bout scheduled for ten rounds.
